'I have a dream,' are some of the most famous words in the history of the United States of America. When Martin Luther King said these words in front of a crowd in Washington in 1963, thousands cheered, and the speech was shown all over the world But less than five years later, he was shot dead. Who was this man? What was his dream? Why did millions of people love him? Why did others hate him?
In 1963 a Baptist minister from Alabama in the South of the United States led a march of 250.000 people to Washington, the nation's capital. There he made a famous speech. 'I have a dream,' he said. He dreamed of the day when black people and white people would live together in peace.Today, I read a book,' Martin Luther KING.'
The book have some part.
- A man from Alabama
- Growing up in Atlanta
- Slavery and the south
- War in America
- Learning
- The Montgomery Bus Boycott
- Big trouble in Little Rock
- A new start?
- The march on Washington
- This country is sick
- I'm black and I'm proud
- Black and White, unite and fight!
- Death in Memphis
- Still Dreaming
Though I had known Martin Luther King, I could know him more. I respect him, and I was impressed with Gandhi's words too ,' If you love your enemies, you can beat them.' I don't want to hate anyone too. What do you think about this?
